Physical

All students completed the tests required by Georgia Adopt-A-Stream (AAS). Students were then certified to complete physical, chemical, and bacterial tests.

Tests completed in field:

• Air temperature - taken first in the shade
• Water temperature
• Humidity
• Water discharge
• Dissolved oxygen
• pH
• Conductivity
• One sample bag from the site used for chemical and bacterical tests - taken last, mid-stream, mid-depth

Cross section of the river:

• Once for each site
• Measurements were taken from bank to bank
• Changes in depth were recorded in decimal feet

Students also noted:

• Rain- intermittent to heavy
• Sun- overcast to sunny/clear
• Observed vegetation at site
